Tom’s Photographic life started at the age of 16 when he trained with Europe’s top advertising photographers ‘Wolf and Wolf’ based in Belgium. On his return to England he joined the world of Freelance Photography and worked tirelessly for his local paper as well as the British Army and some international clients. His passion for Fine Art Photography fuels his enthusiasm for the natural world with its patterns, intricate structures and incredible design. Mother Nature is the best designer in the world and he believes in celebrating that fact. Tom is largely self-taught and believes that one can only improve as a photographer by experience.
Tom wants people to see the flowers in a concentrated form, appreciating the incredible floral structures and colourful blooms up close. He is influenced by Robert Mapplethorpe’s still life work as well as Martin Parr’s photographic attitude. Tom resides in York with his wife and two daughters and for the last 8 years, he has been pursuing his love of cityscapes, landscapes and macro work under the artistic name of ‘Liquid Images’.
